I have never slow cooked lamb before and when I tell you this was the most rewarding thing I’ve made. It was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever made.
It reminded me of my Croatian family and at each bite I was thinking of how proud my Dida would be of me. He would have loved it.
I’m not a lamb freak, but this was so tender and mild. The bone literally slipped out clean as can be. I filmed the whole thing and will post a TikTok on it soon.
It was the first time in a while that I ate something with so much flavour, love and pride. I made it for two people, my sister and I, and we grazed on it for about 3 days. I ate it pure, tossed it in a salad, added it into a sandwich, and stirred it into soup.
The pea, mint and coconut soup was also amazing. Not your typical pea soup, which can be quite boring and bland. The coconut went so well with it, the sweetness and the minty spice. With my seeded crackers and some halloumi cubes on top to cut through with some salt. Amazing.
I used to love Snickers, but I can’t have peanuts right now. SO, hazelnut stickers were made instead… Make sure you wait a few minutes before biting into them because you will get brain freeze.
Remember the Dr. Oetker Lillifee cupcakes? I spent my teens in Hamburg, and this was the only thing that stood out to me in the baking section at my local Edeka.
To be honest, they were always really gross and dry, and I hated the icing. But this? My friends, proper fairy cupcakes. You will grow wings and fly.
… Happy cooking! <3
